10kWh VRB-ESS; RAPS application
In March 2006, the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) purchased a 10 kilowatt-hour VRB Energy Storage System, containing the approximate power and energy to support an average size household for several hours. The system will undergo evaluation by the NRC’s Institute for Chemical Process and Environmental Technology (ICPET) in partnership with Natural Resources Canada’s CANMET Energy Technology Centre (NRCan-CETC) to assess the potential of the VRB-ESS in off-grid applications for a number of Canadian Government Agencies.
